Calling all our Special Agents
This year we are giving you a completely different challenge. As we don’t know a great deal about many of you personally, we are going to try and find out a bit more!
The challenge is to be ‘My Other Hobby Is‘
We want you to let us know about your other hobby apart from photography. The format will be basically the same as our other challenges, that is, dpi sequence entries up to ten images which illustrate a hobby which you have and perhaps none of us even know about. You may have more than one hobby to tell us about and if you want, you can make mutiple entries. But let us know which one you want to be shown first in case there is a very large entry!
DPIs can be 1400 x 1050 or 1024 x768 and shown as a sequence.
Print panel can be on a board of any size and you can put more than 5 or 6 but remember less is sometimes more. We suggest the print size should be 6 x 4 or 7 x 5 but again that is up to you. We will make frequent reminders about this challenge but we are letting you know now so that it can be an on going project. Your holidays may be your hobby, so you need to know well in advance for that. If you want you can expand upon the images you show us – it is interesting for the rest of us to hear about your other hobbies.
Judging will be a home grown club affair as we did in the ‘Five of a Kind’ competition at a recent Go Active evening. We found it quite successful judged that way.
We hope you will all make an effort to take part – it should be fun!
Best of luck from The Challenge Meisters (Pam and Dave G)

85 Group Summer Walks 2016
As previously we are organising summer walks on the days we would have had the normal club meetings.
Meetings @ 6pm but for those people unable to make that time there will be somebody who will stay around the meeting venue for later arrivals. The aim will be to eat at around 8pm at ‘the eating venues’
A walk along the canalside / Middlewood Way at Higher Poynton and later a meal at the Boars Head, parking is at the pub.
Alderley Edge followed by a meal at The Wizard. As we are eating at The Wizard we have their permission to use the pub car park before going on our evening walk.
Canal walk towards Woodley starting at The Spread Eagle in Hatherlow (post code for your Satnav is SK6 3DR). Again we have permission to use the side pub car park prior to the walk as we will eat there afterwards. They do an excellent carvery plus other meals.
‘Picnic & Hot Dogs In The Park.’ Which park is to be decided later but probably Lyme.
Once again our intrepid 85 Group Agents are being given a new set of assignments. Our chosen challenge for you this year will be a trip to Prestbury.
The four required elements will be:
1] A person at work or thinking about it!
2] A hat.
3] A badge.
4] An insect or arachnid of some sort. [A creepy crawly]
Then of course the memory you carried away from your visit or visits to Prestbury.
The same rules apply as previously, DPIs must be shown in the above order and sized at 1024px x 768px or 1400px x 1050px.
Prints panels [may include any number of images but you must show all the elements] to be mounted on a board no more than 20” by 16” / 50cm by 40cm. Type can be used if not detrimental to the images.
This challenge was originally thought up to be a summer project but we think it can be an ongoing project as it will probably be judged hopefully just before Christmas, so bear this in mind. We will remind you about it from time to time. We have been most heartened by the enthusiasm and the hard work put in by so many of our Special Agents on their past assignments and encourageyou all to go out and give it your best ‘shot’, excuse the pun!

Calling all our Intrepid Village Agents…
Once again our Agents are to be called into action and it will be not too far from home. This year our village assignment is to be in Hayfield. You are being sent to photograph several strategic installations in this picturesque village in the High Peak.
The four elements which must be submitted are :-
- Something Blue
- A Four-legged Animal which must be Black, White or Black and White. [Dirty white is OK, sheep can be a bit mucky up Hayfield way!!]
- Something Liquid
- A Mechanical Object
- As well as these four you are required to include something which, for you, encapsulates your lasting memory or the essence of the Village of Hayfield
The rules are to be similar to what they have been in the previous years. For the PDI sequences the images must be shown in the order above to help the judge to understand what the images represent [NO, IT IS NOT ALWAYS OBVIOUS!] The images can be sized at 1400 px by 1050 px [good if you want to use them again in comps] or 1024 px by 768 px [possibly easier to send via email.] Resolution 72ppi but ideally no more than 100ppi
There will be a print panel section, with prints to be no more than 6in x 4in and to be mounted on a board no more than 20in x 16in. You may put as many prints as you want on the mount as long as you include the required elements, but please stick to the rules!! You will not be penalised for putting unobtrusive text on the prints as long as it does not detract from the image.
Once again we wish you all the very best of luck on this our most recent assignment. Try to think outside the box and most importantly of all:-
